I recently bought this Proctor Silex Hand Blender from Big Lots for about $10. It is INCREDIBLE. I have a large plastic cup that I toss chopped fruit in, some crushed ice, and let'er rip. Each piece should not be larger than 1" and they do not recommend running it for longer than a minute at a time. I found that if the ice is layered with the fruit, a few good pumps (to the power button) and a minute of steady blending will give you the best all-fruit smoothie around.
Some of my favorites include:
- Strawberry Banana (classic!) + ice
- Strawberry Blueberry Banana + ice
- Strawberry Blueberry Raspberry + ice
- Tangerine, Mango, Pineapple + ice (pictured)
Add Benefiber or Protein powder for some extra nutrition
Add alcohol for some grown-up goodness

Sounds really healthy. Good looking picture too!!! Do you find any combinations or certain fruits to not blend well?
ReplyDeleteActually, I have not yet found a fruit that does not blend well with this machine. In terms of flavor, I would avoid blending berries with melon or adding too much citrus. But those are personal preferences and I believe if your taste buds desire it, this blender can blend i.
